Imagine…you’re in your eighties bending down to pick up your salad spinner out of the kitchen cabinet.

Your back feels fine as you gracefully hinge at your hips and get a little hamstring stretch as you reach down to pick it up.

You rinse the greens for your smoothie and start to pull on the handle to get the spinner going. You feel your upper back muscles engage as you pull it over and over to spin the greens dry.

UPS arrives at your door and delivers a heavy parcel. You bend your knees and easily gather up the package to bring it inside. It’s weighty, but you know how to protect your back by aligning in good posture.

We could go on…describing every aspect of your life and how shockingly independent you still are at your age! We won’t follow you into the bathroom, promise.

But here's the rub...

Not everyone in their older years can claim to be this functional in their body. And that’s because some people study alignment and keep their bodies moving as they age, and many more do not.

And I get it!

After two years of pandemic life, our bodies have changed dramatically.

Work-from-home and/or long hours on the computer has negatively impacted postural alignment, eyesight, digestion, gut health, and more.

Pandemic-related stress has wreaked havoc on our nervous systems.

And on top of it, you may have noticed how your brain’s been affected by lack of socialization and increased internet use.

This is why we’re genuinely thrilled to be launching multiple Longevity Series in 2022 quarterly that will address the changes you’ve been through while setting you up for success and independence in your body as you age.

In our next 4-part series we’ll focus specifically on longevity and the lower back.
